  • The LPROF ICC profiler is based on LCMS and can create ICC profiles for cameras, scanners and monitors
  • Argyll is an experimental, open source, ICC compatible color management system. It supports accurate ICC profile creation for scanners, CMYK printers, and film recorders. Profile linking uses the latest CIECAM97 appearance model, a new gamut mapping algorithm, and a wide selection of rendering intents. It also includes code for the fastest portable 8 bit raster color conversion engine available anywhere.
  • The Scribus Open Source Desktop Publishing package does fully support a color managed workflow - even on Linux. In addition to that, it's a very good tool to create interactive PDF forms without Adobe Acrobat.
  • Wolf Faust has IT8.7 targets for a pretty good price available. He also collects links to free CM systems at And he's written a CMS system for the Amiga. I should probably order a new target - mine is getting old.
  • The Behrmann site provides many informations around colour management on Linux, including actual news, tutorials, a CMS draft, the open source ICC Examin tool and a link collection.

  • The SCARSE - Scanner CAlibration ReaSonably Easy is an attempt to create profiles. At this time only scanner profiles are supported.
