That’s my cat Murphy - the mouse must have come in via the basement: Both cats were patrolling the basement door for a while afterwards.

My cat tells the mice where the kitchen is. I had to put traps down.
Give them a treat, you want to encourage them to protect your house. The last thing you want is to wake up with a mouse sitting on top of you and looking at you, wondering why you’re in its bed.
